How can I contribute?

Collecting data

The a11y-Score uses data from OpenStreetMap (OSM) to evaluate accessibility. To help out, you can map places in your area and/or add information about their accessibility. You can also contribute data to OSM via Wheelmap.org, the world's largest map for wheelchair accessible places.

Giving feedback

We are always happy to receive feedback to improve the a11y-Score. Just fill out our feedback form!

If you are familiar with geodata and/or software development, you can find the source code on GitHub. We are open to improvements.

Spreading the word

You can also help us a lot by drawing attention to our project:

Tell your friends, family and colleagues about the a11y-Score.
Encourage the people around you to contribute data, e.g. by mapping together on Wheelmap.org, or by using OpenStreetMap as an “open cadastre”.
Make your city or local transport authority aware of our work.
If you develop software yourself: give the GitHub project a star!

For a more inclusive world, we would like to see administrations at all levels rely a little less on small individual measures — and start thinking about removing barriers on a large scale. We hope the score gives people who focus on doing new ideas. 🌱
